Charleston Bachelorette Weekend Guide

What’s the next best excuse for a quick trip? A destination bachelorette party (which is all the rage now)! So what’s a hot spot to take your best friends & celebrate your singledom for the last time? If you’re looking for a cute city, warm weather and to not be surrounded by 1,000 other bridal parties -looking at you Nashville- Charleston, SC is the perfect place for a weekend getaway. Here’s a guide to planning an unforgettable bachelorette weekend.

Shopping

King Street – Blocks on blocks of stores with tons of cute boutiques and locally-made items.

Charleston City Market – I’m a sucker for markets because it’s the perfect place to find unique gifts and artwork. Nothing is more fun than chatting with the artists/makers to hear how their pieces are created. The entire market is covered, so you can hit it up anytime.  *HOURS: 9:30am-6pm (Sun-Thurs) & 9:30am-10:30pm (Fri-Sat).

Other Attractions

  • Stalk celebrity houses from Southern Charm
  • Take a Historic House Tour
  • Stroll along Patriots Point

Landmarks

Rainbow Row: Did you really travel somewhere if you don’t have the pics to prove it? If you’re looking for some instagrammable spots, head to Rainbow Row. Pretty obvious, it’s a row of houses all in different, pastel colors.

Battery Park:  A quick 15 minute walk from Rainbow Row, you’ll find Battery Park. It’s right on the harbor & offers pretty views of the water, is a nice spot to catch some shade & stare at all the unbelievable mansions you probably can never afford :p

Waterfront Park: Due to my WONDERFUL sense of direction, I completely missed this landmark. Pinterest had tons of gorgeous pictures of this park and the iconic pineapple fountain, so make sure to add it to your list (and don’t fudge up your GPS directions!).

Restaurants:

Fuel – I love love love modern Mexican restaurants! Fuel’s outdoor area features an outdoor bar, lounge furniture and live music. It definitely has a younger vibe and is a fun place for a casual dinner.

Eleve Restaurant and Rooftop Bar – If you’re looking for an upscale place to dine, Eleve is where it’s at. It’s got a great atmosphere to kick off the bride-to-be’s night. Nothing says “fancy” more than moody lighting and a rooftop bar with fire pits and a city view. Drinks are strong too (woo!).

Prohibition – By far the best food I had all weekend! It’s right on King Street, so it’s the perfect place to stuff yourself with brunch food before a shopping spree. Everyone in the bridal party couldn’t stop raving about the meals. You can’t go wrong with the corn beef hash. It has a rustic bar feel and a pretty outdoor patio to boot.

Accommodations:

Forego the hotel and rent a cute house through Airbnb. This way you’ll be near the downtown hub, have the freedom (and space) to throw a bachelorette party for the new Mrs. and embrace Charleston’s charm.

The houses are very unique to the city’s history and some feature double decker wrap- around porches.

Definitely put Charleston on your list of potential picks for a destination bachelorette party- it’s the  perfect reason to travel, drink, eat and hang with your “bride tribe.” Cheers!
